Sarah: What was the first best decision?

Derek: Coming back.

Being that viewers only know what the camera may show them when watching The Real World or The Real World: Challenge, it has become pretty evident that things can get pretty crazy on the show, but do I think it can get so crazy that sexual assault is involved, no. If the producers and camera crew went to so much work to getting CT tamed when he almost killed Adam, I would think they would protect their female contestants against sexual assault. But if they didn’t (not saying that they did not), that sucks, because MTV should not be that desperate for an interesting show that people’s safety have to be put into question.

My only question is why now. If this happened in 2009, then shouldn’t the case have been filed in 2009, 2010 at the latest; however, I don’t know how these things work, so I really don’t know. I just hope the truth comes out, because I would hate for any party to get a bad rep because of a lie. In the end, this will probably change how the show is ran from now on.

Derek: I left because I thought it was the right thing to do. I thought that if I left, you would have a chance at a better life without me. I know I haven’t been the best influence on your life and with you going on to do great things, I didn’t want to be the person who ruined that for you.

Sarah: But I have done these great things because of you in hopes that you will eventually see what I have done and come back. Yes, I’m successful and yes my life is pretty great right now, but that does not mean I never think about what my life would have been like if I was with you.

Derek: But we can do that now, we can have that life.

Sarah: No we can’t, because we are grown now with separate lives, so I’m going to do what I should have done a week ago and say goodbye.

Derek: What if I don’t want to say goodbye?

Sarah: The day you left is the day you said goodbye.

It all began with a hot tub, a HOT TUB TIME MACHINE that is. With the theme this year being “Past, Present, and Future”, I came up with the idea with “Hot Tub Time Machine”, because we (the Yampa Hall Council) couldn’t do the Delorean from Back to the Future (thanks Barrett, the Honors College), but it was probably the most original idea out of all the floats.

When it comes to making a hot tub float, there are somethings you might need to know. First, if you plan to Papier-mâché anything, do it with glue. You might think that flour is going to work, but it just takes longer and makes more of a mess. As for the actual hot tub, to get that hot tubby feel it is a smart idea to use dry ice, but don’t put the dry ice in a tub so big that no one can see it, it just makes the ice a huge waster of money. But the number pointer I can give you is to start early and get as many people as possible to help you out, because the less people you have, the harder it will be.

But overall, my first experience of ASU homecoming was bittersweet. Bitter, because I am extremely tired and felt like we put too much work into a float that was only appreciated for 20 minutes tops. But sweet, because I got to actually be in the parade, build my first float, and make some really good friends. So if you ever have the chance to be apart of Homecoming, what ever college you to, do it, it will be a worthwhile experience.

First off, being that I’m from California, I was surprised that instead seeing child safety as a top priority on the bus (which was your typical yellow school bus), it was actually making sure there were no sleeping children on the bus. Even though this is probably a precaution for children who might faint from heat stroke, it just still seems weird that there were two signs saying “have you checked your bus for sleeping children”. Seriously Arizona, you know your state is too hot when you have to worry about sleeping children.

Anyway, back to the bus ride, so apparently, the bus drivers did not know where they were going or how to use GPS, because they tried to drop us off in front of a hotel. And to make things even more stressful, one of the bus drivers tried to get hard and act like she wasn’t wrong, when someone tried to show here where the right destination was (which was probably 20 feet from where we were, so it wasn’t that big of a deal). I’m not going to lie though, the bus drivers did a pretty amazing  job backing out of the hotel parking lot, I could of swore there were at least five times the bus was going to hit another car. But no, drivers must be taught well in Arizona, because she was close, but no cigar.

So we finally get to the park, the real fun begins. There are at least 70 people who come to the park, but somehow my group of ten people get stuck doing a job that at least 25 people should be doing. Eager to get our community service on, we get straight to work and begin pulling out weeds and digging out dead plants. About 10 minutes into, the sprinklers just shoot on and it was gradual either, it was like getting hit with a water hose, making it that much harder to work. While the weeds were so easy to pull out, taking out dead plants is probably the hardest thing I have ever done. They were so deep in the ground that I thought I was going to find a dead body eventually and on top of that, all the dead plants were planted around a tree that had thorns, so while you were using all you energy trying to get these stupid plants out, you were constantly trying to avoid being stabbed by this stupid tree.

So for two hours, I undug many bushes, took out a whole lot of weeds and probably used enough trash bags to fill one landfill. The highlight of the community service, aside from the bonding and meeting new people is that fact that I got to see my first Scorpion and the fact that the sprinklers came on for a second time, feeling really great after working so hard in the sun.

I’m not going to lie, out of all the community service I have done, this is the first time I actually felt like I did work. It was an amazing experience and I will probably do it again next year, I just hope I can get more people to do it with me.

It is really annoying when people try to victimize themselves, because they ignore the fact that they were the one who got into the situation they are in and need to figure out a solution by his/herself. It is no one but your own fault why you are in the situation that you are in, so why don’t you act like an adult and get out of it and move on with your life.

Life has sucky moments, there is no doubt about that, but don’t try to bring other people down to your level just because you want people to feel sorry for you. It’s not fair to people and makes you look dumb and annoying.

I believe more in choices than luck. It's sad to say, but a person's choices is directly related to how their life is now, kind of like the domino effect. If you make a bad decision, it will effect the next decision you make, whether good or bad.

Luck makes it seem like things just fall out of thin air, but they don't because every incident can be traced be to another incident. I do believe in coincidence though, since the odds of one situation can be extremely lower than another situation happening; nevertheless, luck is something that I always say, but never really take s

I guess I'm kind of old school when it comes to writing notes, because even when I'm given a choice I usually tend to write on paper. I guess it is because computers have too many distractions on it, that I might start writing my notes and then end up on Facebook for two hours. Also, when it comes to math, it is pretty difficult to write equations on a computer, so that is another reason why.

The only way I will ever write my notes on the computer, is if I had Microsoft OneNote, because it does make note taking easy. I'm actually thinking about getting this program, I see everyone else use it and it just seems to make note-taking so easy.

Being that I love taking notes, I don't think I will ever stop writing them on paper, because it makes it so easier to remember everything.

I have always wanted to go skydiving, because I have always thought of it being safer than bungee jumping, since I were to hit the ground skydiving, I would be more likely to die than hitting my head bungee jumping.

Since I have tried neither of the two, I can not really base this off experience, but what I have seen on TV, which is probably not the best place to do research. But I would like to do both before I die, even though I would definitely prefer to do skydiving first.
